Vision for Gender Medicine
My vision is to close the gap between evidence and practice in gender medicine and to train the next generation of clinicians and teachers to embed sex and gender in every field. My specific goals are:
- Systematically integrating sex and gender into medical education through my cross-field network.
- Building two sex and gender - focused research platforms for methodological expertise and patient and public involvement (PPI).
- Creating structures for early-career support, mentoring, and leadership in gender medicine.
To this end, I am building a network of ambassadors for gender-sensitive medicine across all clinical fields.
Research at a Glance
I study how complications in pregnancy can affect vascular health later, and how women can get better follow-up care after such events. I also investigate reproductive health and work life of physicians through a gender perspective, and I work towards creating methods and consortia that make research more inclusive and useful.
My past research focused on cardiovascular epidemiology, gender medicine, and physician well-being, with studies on cardiovascular risk stratification, pregnancy and reproductive health, and career equity of physicians. My work connects health outcomes, work-life conflicts and the gender dimension in real practice.

Leadership & Society Engagement
As Co-President of the Swiss Society for Gender Health (SSGH) and head of its Working Groups "Events" and "Congress", I work to bring sex and gender into medicine, education, and policy in Switzerland. The society unites many professionals and provides a platform to help integrate gender medicine into everyday practice of healthcare workers and onwards to society.
Why It Matters
My work shows how sex and gender shape health, and it works towards providing solutions for preventive care, assisting patients, physicians, and the healthcare system.
